Para-Professional Schedule
In a Special Education setting, planning the schedule is a big task, especially in a secondary setting. I was able to take the lead on the scheduling of a semester in a high school. I had to collaborate with my cooperative teacher to find out all of the necessary information and then took the responsibility to create a plan. Incorporating para-professionals, peer tutors, in-class subjects, general education or "out" classes, IEP goals, and the amount of students was difficult. Although it was a long process, I was able to finish for all periods, print, and place in a binder. If there was any questions regarding who had which student or where somebody should be going, it could all be found in the binder. This gave me great experience in determining what is best for each student during each subject, which is something I will be doing every day in the future.
